Blue Light Local (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Blue Light Local”) operates bluelightlocal.co.uk and members.bluelightlocal.co.uk as an Employee Assistance Programme connecting emergency service personnel (“Members”) with local, independent businesses (“Suppliers”) offering exclusive discounts and benefits.

1.2 Our Mission 

We exist to support the people who look after us, whilst strengthening local communities by promoting independent retailers and small chains that our communities rely on.

1.3 Acceptance of Terms 

By accessing or using our websites (bluelightlocal.co.uk and members.bluelightlocal.co.uk) or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms specific to certain services.

1.4 Changes to Terms

2. DEFINITIONS

“Emergency Services Personnel”: Current or retired personnel from NHS, Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance Services, Armed Forces, Prison Services, and other qualifying emergency services as determined by Blue Light Local

“Content”: All text, images, data, and other materials on the Website

3. MEMBER ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION

3.1 Eligibility Requirements 

To register as a Member, you must:

Be current or retired emergency services personnel as defined in Section 2

Provide accurate verification documentation

Be aged 18 or over

Have legal capacity to enter into this agreement

3.2 Verification Process 

All Members must undergo identity and employment verification

We may request official documentation including employee ID, payslips, or professional registration We reserve the right to use third-party verification services

Verification requirements may be updated without amending these Terms

3.3 Account Security 

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials You must not share your account access with others

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access

We may suspend accounts showing signs of suspicious activity

3.4 Use of Offers 

Offers are subject to individual Supplier terms and conditions

Offers are for personal use only and are non-transferable

We are not responsible for Offer fulfilment, quality, or availability

Misuse of Offers may result in account termination

4.SUPPLIER REGISTRATION & OBLIGATIONS

4.1 Supplier Eligibility 

Must be a legitimate UK-registered business

Preferably independent or small-chain operations

Must operate within legal and ethical standards

Must provide accurate business registration details

4.2 Registration Process 

Registration is free of charge

Must provide complete and accurate business information

Must maintain current contact details and business credentials

Subject to approval at our discretion

4.3 Offer Management 

Suppliers are solely responsible for the accuracy and validity of their Offers Must clearly define all terms including discount percentages, validity periods, and exclusions Must honour all valid Offers presented by verified Members

Must promptly update or remove invalid Offers

4.4 Performance Standards 

Must maintain reasonable customer service standards

Must not discriminate against Members

Must comply with all applicable consumer protection laws

Must respond to Member queries and complaints in a timely manner

4.5 Monitoring and Compliance 

We reserve the right to monitor Supplier performance

We may remove Suppliers for poor performance, Member complaints, or breach of these Terms We may conduct periodic reviews of Supplier compliance

5.PLATFORM OPERATION & THIRD-PARTYSERVICES

5.1 Service Availability 

We strive to maintain service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access We may temporarily suspend services for maintenance, updates, or technical issues We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our reasonable control

5.2 Third-Party Service Providers 

We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:

Make.com: Automation and workflow management

Instantly.ai: Email processing and member communications

Zapier: Integration services and data processing

Google Sheets: Data storage and analysis

OpenAI: AI-powered content and verification assistance

5.3 Data Processing 

Personal data may be processed by our third-party service providers

Some providers may transfer data outside the UK/EEA

All processors are bound by appropriate data protection agreements

7.1 Data Collection and Use 

Personal data collection and processing are governed by our Privacy Policy We process data lawfully under GDPR and UK data protection legislation You have rights regarding your personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy

7.2 Cross-Border Data Transfers 

Some data may be transferred outside the UK/EEA to our service providers All transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards

9.2 Limitation of Liability 

Our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages

Our total liability shall not exceed £100 or the amount you paid us (if any)

9.3 Member and Supplier Disputes 

Disputes between Members and Suppliers must be resolved directly

We may provide assistance but are not obligated to mediate disputes

11.TERMINATION
